The Guest Lounge
Waiting to welcome you on arrival and when you return after your day out in Lochaber.
The Guest Lounge has lovely cosy seating, warm lighting and views of Ben Nevis.
Here you can relax at the end of the day in the lounge and chat with other guests. It’s a great place to make new friends and plan your next adventure.
Some of the following have been temporarily withdrawn to reduce the risk of COVID infection.
However all is not lost as we are sending a Digital Guide to all guests making a reservation a couple of weeks or so before arrival which will provide all the information you need and links to an online service where you can view or download other information.
Our Digital Guide can be downloaded to your mobile phone or other device and even used offline, or printed out before you leave home.
In addition you will find local information, maps, ferry timetables, books with walks to cater for all abilities. Especially relevant are two books we are sure you will find very useful:-
Where to eat out.
The first has menus for many restaurants, pubs, cafes and hotels within a few miles of Torlundy House. There are telephone numbers so you can make a reservation which is often required during the high season. Tastes vary so we can discuss with you the various places. In addition we can help you make a reservation. There is a wide choice from local Scottish cuisine to food from around the world, something to appeal to every palette.
Where to go.
The second is a book of tours to help you get the best from your time in the area. We have personally put these tours together for you using our own local knowledge and experience of the area. We have been to all the places mentioned, and many of them you will not find in retail guide books as they are seldom visited by the people who write guide books. There are tours of local sights for those who do not want to drive too far and tours further afield such as day tours to Skye and the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, tours to suit all weathers, so what ever the time of year there is always something to see and do.
Of course we also have some standard guide books as well and a whole host of leaflets to help you in our entrance hall reception area, where we have a notice board with a daily weather forecast on it.
We have a selection of games available, cards, scrabble etc. as well as the views of Ben Nevis, Aonach Mor and the Glen Loy hills in the lounge.
You will find it very difficult to be bored in the Western Highlands, in fact living here we do not really know the meaning of the word bored!
To tempt you, here is the view of Ben Nevis from our Breakfast Room! Not many B&Bs have this view at breakfast time.
